Okay, so this smoothie is actually from a couple of days ago, but the two year old ‘borrowed’ my camera and I have only just located it! The plan was to put together a smoothie which was packed to the brim with vitamin C to help all of you who are fighting off the coughs, colds, ‘flu and fatigue which seem to appear with the change of the seasons. The result was a spectacular drink which can only be described with one word: ZING!
Vitamin C Blast Recipe
one pink grapefruit, peeled and quartered
two oranges, peeled and quartered
two kiwifruit, ends removed and quartered
one punnet of strawberries, leaves and all
one heaped teaspoon of camu camu powder
one heaped teaspoon of rosehips, ground
one heaped teaspoon of hibiscus petals, ground
two tablespoons of goji berries, soaked in 100ml of water
150ml concentrated infusion using 2-3 hibiscus flowers
1 cup of water
Add of the ingredients to the blender, in the order they are listed (including the soaking water of the goji berries, but not the whole hibiscus flowers used to make the concentrated infusion). Whiz it together for a minute or so in the blender and enjoy the brightly coloured smoothie guaranteed to keep you zinging for the rest of the day.
